A feather to the cap is an international style pavilion with all the modern amenities with seating of 1140 spectators.
An Inter House Badminton tournament (Girls single) was organized in DPS Aligarh on 27th April 2019, in which the girls from all the houses participated with their tireless energy and dauntless spirit.
Nitya Sadani of Ravi house captivated the audience with her marvelous performance and she held the first position. Aastha Grover of Ganga house put her energy to the largest possible extent and stood second in the tournament. While Aadya Pathak and Riddhima Thakur representing Chenab and Jhelum house respectively got the third and fourth position.
In Badminton Girls Double, Ravi house got first position and Chenab stood second while Ganga and Jhelum bagged third and fourth positions respectively.
An Inter House Badminton (Boys single) Tournament was organized in Badminton hall on 27th April 2019, in which all the houses participated with full proof advanced preparations. Ganga house participants achieved the first position with the game spirit of Anuj Jain while Dhruvdeep Gupta bagged the second position representing Ravi house. Madhvan of Chenab house held the third position. Sidhharth jain of Jhelum house got the fourth position in the tournament.
In the Boys Double category Ganga house came first, Ravi house traditionally got the second position while Chenab house and Jhelum house again satisfied their quest for victory with third and fourth position respectively. All the participants were appreciated for putting their full vigor and energy in the tournament.
Football is the second most popular sport in India after Cricket. The beautiful game is watched and admired by millions across the country. Extracurricular activities like sports are very important for the all round personality development of the students. So to develop sportsmanship among the students, an “Inter House Football Tournament (Boys Junior) For Class VII-VIII” was held in Delhi Public School Aligarh from 2nd May-4th May, 2018 for the students of all four houses Chenab, Ganga, Jhelum and Ravi. Total 48 students of classes VII & VIII (12 students from each house) took active part in this competition. The competition commenced with the kicking of ball by Mr. Sharad Agarwal, the Vice Principal of the school. Match took place between Ganga House and Chenab House on 2nd May 2018 while Jhelum House and Ravi House played on 3rd May 2018. The final combat took place between Ganga House and Ravi House. The match was full of excitement and both teams tried their best to win. Both of the teams were equally strong and showed their excellent skill and performances.
As a result Ganga House won the match by one goal to zero. In Football Tournament (Boys Junior), 1st position was secured by Ganga House, while 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions were secured by Ravi, Jhelum and Chenab Houses respectively.
The Principal of the school, Mrs. Rashmi Grover boosted the morale of the students with her motivating words. In her speech she gave much importance to the need for arranging such tournaments in the school in order to inculcate team spirit, sportsmanship and discipline among the students. She congratulated and encouraged the students for their laudable performances.
