YELLOW COLOUR DAY - CLASS-NURSERY

Hey! Today is yellow colour day and our teachers have organized interesting activities for us.
May1,2012 was celebrated as ‘Yellow Colour Day’.Students came very excited in yellow colour dress. When they entered the class teachers wished them ‘Happy Yellow Colour Day’. They made yellow colour birds on ice cream sticks and pasted eyes and feathers on it. Yellow smileys were also made which was pasted on their shirts.

They enjoyed the whole day and participated with full zeal and enthusiasm in all the activities.

 
Class - PREPARATORY
Tiny tots of class Prep celebrated ‘Yellow Colour Day’ on    May 1 , 2012. All the students came in yellow coloured dress. They did ‘Tearing and Pasting’ activity in the picture of mango. It was a group activity in which all the students were involved. Apart from this small smileys were made and it was tagged on shirt of the students. They were asked yellow coloured objects in the class and they participated excitedly.
     In such a way whole day was spent with  joy & excitement and all of them got acquainted with yellow colour.
     
 
 
DPS, ALIGARH” ORGANISES THE GRAND EVENT OF “SAMAGAM”

A grand cultural programme, on the theme “SAMAGAM,” on Monday, Dec.12, 2011, was gloriously organized by DPS Aligarh, along with all its three wings, at senior wing, adjacent to Magalayatan Dhaam, Agra road, Aligarh. The chief guest for the event was, our esteemed administrator and well known educationist, honorable Sri Ashok Chandra (Ex. I.A.S.) Chairman, Delhi Public School Society, Delhi and the special guest was Dr. Mrs.Sharda Nayak, the chairperson of DPS Aligarh
The Head boy of the school Raunak Bhatia, along with Head Girl  Ashima Singhal presented bouquet to make a warm welcome to Sri Ashok Chandra, the chief guest and Dr. Mrs. Sharda Naik, the special guest, by following the conventional way of welcoming. The programme was set in motion at 5.00pm after the auspicious lamp lightening by chief guest Sri Ashok Chandra, Dr. Mrs. Sharda Naik,Pro Vice Chairman Sri Swapnil Jain, Principal Dr. Mrs.Shubha Narayan and Vice Principal Mr. Chandra Shekhar respectively before the goddess of knowledge Maa Saraswati. The most important and mesmerising fact is, that the programme was staged by over 3000 participants on a 3600 square feet hydraulic stage on its glorious theme ‘Contribution of Female Strength to the History and glory of our Mother India’ showcasing from evolution to revolution of Indian culture, virtues, heritage and technology with an incredible blend of various religious sentiments and social issues  by an introduction,  scientifically fictitious appearance of aliens on mother earth in search of best human qualities. Around 6000 guests witnessed the grand occurrence at DPS. Glimpses of Indian ‘female-milestones’, from yesteryears to contemporary, was showcased to elite gathering, naming: mother like qualities in Yashoda, bravery and will power, Razia Sultaan, great, affectionate and universal Mother Teresa, strong determination of great dancer, Sudha Chandran and of high spirits to reach to the stars by Kalpana Chawla, of great sacrifice by Panna Dhai, of great zeal to serve people in many more.
 The programme also consisted of a well actuated event, based on ‘Save Girl Child & Save Nature’ by ‘Nanhi Chhaon’, run by our own Delhi Public School, a programme under the aegis of DPS Society of which our school, is an integral part. The audiences were mesmerized on seeing the glimpses of great personalities of India, like Ashoka The Great, Laxmi Bai, Lord Buddha, Mahavir Swami, Teepu Sultan, Prithvi raj Chauhan,Vivekanand,Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and and so,  related to its past and the contemporary, on huge hydraulic stage prepared by “Innovative Ideas Pvt. LTD”. 

Pro vice chairman of DPS Aligarh, Sri Swapnil Jain, in his speech, said that the records, which have been established in the aspect of learning and imbibing,art and craft, games and sports, since 13 years, are the fruits of the blessings of people of the DPS fraternity along with guardians. He also said that the DPS fraternity would try its level best to make the school DPS Aligarh as a role model among 160 units of DPS, blotted all over the world and students would learn the high moral values and ideologies in a philosophical way, in the eternal process of all round development.

REPORT OF RANGOLI MAKING
CLASS- PLAY GROUP

On the occasion of Diwali when the atmosphere is filled with the spirit of celebration, our tiny tots of play group also joined the celebration of this vivacious festival of light.

Students had dressed themselves in colourful traditional dresses. They all were very excited. Each of them brought a big diya for diya decoration. They decorated diyas with great enthusiasm. They used glitters and stars to decorate it.

Students decorated their classroom by making Rangoli and enjoyed   “Rangoli Making Activity”. They filled different colours in different shapes with the help of their teacher. Students displayed their illuminating diyas on the rangoli and felt happy as they ornamented their class room’s entrance to welcome Goddess Laxmi.

Students celebrated diwali with mouthwatering sweets and traditional foods, which they had brought in their tiffins and sang Diwali Rhymes.

At last, when they went back home, they greeted Happy Diwali to their teachers, their friends and established a word of closeness.

Come on children, lets play with fun.Today, we will have fun with leaves.
Wow! There are lots of trees and plants in the garden.
Children, can you identify the colour of these leaves. Yes!!! They are green in colour, see some are dark green and some are light green.
Can you differentiate between dark green and light green leaves?

All students were taken to visit the garden and identify green colour in the environment which enabled them to differentiate between dark green and light green leaves. Their  teacher also cleared the concept of big and small, long and short with the help of different parts and leaves. To make the topic memorable, they all participated in palm printing and made a tree on a chart paper with full enthusiasm. They all were very happy and went back home with jovial mood.         
     
     
 
Report on Investiture Ceremony 2011-12
Delhi Public School Civil Lines organized an Investiture Ceremony on 25.08.11 for the year 2011-12. Investiture ceremony is one of the most important events of the school. It reminds us of the trust and confidence that we repose in the newly invested office bearers, Heads, Deputy Heads, House Captains, Vice House Captains, Editorial, Discipline & Cultural Heads. Donning the mantle of responsibility, they also pledge to dispense their duties to the best of their abilities.
The programme commenced with Shiv Stuti and colorful cultural events were added to bless the new member of students council. On this occasion our Principal Dr. Mrs. Shubha Narayan gave the sashes and badges to the member of Student Council.
The over all coordinators were Ms. Rashmi Vashisht and Ms. Arti Sharma. The programme was successful with the cooperation of students.

Report on Blue Colour Day.
Date- 15 July 2011
 Blue colour day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in play group. Students wore blue colour dresses and felt very happy. They learnt to recognize the colour of their dress.
Students brought blue colour balloons with them and tried to blow them with the help of their teacher. Lots of activities were done with balloons like-

  • To Count the balloons.
  • Bird making.
  • Who will burst the balloon first?

After that students enjoyed the cotton printing. They made snowmen and applied blue colour in clouds and puddles and created a rainy scene on a chart paper.  Cotton printing activity enabled them to understand that “Sky is blue”

Teacher had shown different objects, those were blue in colour and played an interesting game “Pick up the blue one” and students enjoyed that game. They
all were very happy, when they went back home.

“Fruits salad making” activity was done in play group with great fun. All tiny tots were very happy when they came to school. They entered in the classroom with their little fruit basket. Students brought different types of fruits with them.
First of all, rhymes related to fruits were recited after that they enjoyed the “Fruits salad making” activity. The read essence of this activity was to make the topic interesting so that students take interest and easily recognize the common fruits like- Apple, Banana, Mango, Orange, Grapes and Pear.
Students enjoyed the thumb printing. They applied green colour in grapes. After that, students played a puzzle game. Teacher showed them many fruits and asked questions related to the colour of different fruits like-
                         What is red?
                         Apple is red.
                         What is yellow?
                         Mango is yellow.
Students went back singing-
                       Orange and yellow,
                       Green and red,
                       Are the colours of the fruits?
                       I have been fed.

Wow! It’s a vegetables shopping day. All students entered in the class room with their little shopping bag. They all were very excited for shopping, vegetables. First of all their teacher told them about the importance of vegetables. All students were ready for shopping. A mini vegetable market arranged in the school campus. All Tiny tots were very excited and curious, when they purchased vegetables.
With the help of their teacher, they were able to recognize the particular vegetable and they also tried to learn the name of some vegetables, those were new for them.
With the help of vegetables shopping, children tried to identify the colour of these vegetables. Like-

                                      Tomato is red,
                                      Brinjal is purple and,

Report on Orange Colour Day
Date- 29 Aug 2011

In the play group of D.P.S Civil Lines, Orange Colour Day was celebrated to fill  the whole environment with the colour of joy. To celebrate this day, our main aim was to make them
able to identify this colour in their surroundings, in the special month of August, when the
whole country celebrates Independence Day.

To achieve this target, the concern teacher organized lots of activities. Like- To wear orange dresses, to identify orange colour in National flag and Sellowphin printing.

On this day, all students wore orange colour dresses and learnt to recognize the orange colour.
First of all, they tried to identify this colour in their surroundings after that they applied this
colour on a chart paper and made a beautiful bouquet with the help of sellowphin printing. All students enjoyed this activity a lot. This activity enabled them to recognize the orange colour.

The next activity was “Identifying orange colour in our National Flag” The concerned teacher showed our national flag to the students and asked them to identify the orange colour in it. Children enjoyed this activity and took part in it with great interest.

MONTH – AUGUST ACTIVITY REPORT 

TABLE MANNERS: - August 10, 2011

Students were asked to bring 1 plate, fork, butter knife, paper napkin and cutlets. Demonstration for the same was given. They were told the etiquettes while eating like:

  • Appropriate use of Cutlery,
  • Wash your hands before and after meal,
  • Take small bite,
  • Eat slowly,
  • Chew well,
  • Don’t talk while eating,
  • Sit in correct posture

They enjoyed working with fork and butter knife. This activity brought them in a party mood and they enjoyed cutlets with their friends.

Milk Day : Piyo glassful Doodh!!!August 19, 2011
                                         
To introduce children a healthy living and to make sure that they have a good diet when they are growing up, was the main aim.
We celebrated Milk Day for which students were told to bring Canned Milk, any one milk product and wrappers of milk products for making a collage.

Dress Code
Boys: White Shirt, Trousers/ Kurta Pajama
Girls: White Top/ Kurti and Churidar

Students came with full energy and enthusiasm. They brought their favourite flavour of milk and milk products. Students were happy that now they will become powerful and strong like their Dad (‘My daddy is the strongest’). They enacted like their favourite cartoon character. Making of Collage was also very exciting, through this they came to know about different brands and names of milk products.

Nimbu Pani Day- July 7, 2011

Nimbu pani is an instant energizer and thirst reliever that brings instant relief and is full of taste.
Students were asked to bring lemon, sugar and chaat masala.
Demonstration for preparing lemonade was given by the teachers.
In the scorchy heat of July after drinking lemonade they felt refreshed and full of energy.

Plantation Day –July 14, 2011

Plants are life on Earth and are essential resource for human well-being.We organized Plantation Day at school. Students were divided in the groups of four. As flowers attract most to the kids we started with the plantation of marigold flower. They were told the importance of planting trees. Growing  plant by the children helped them to know more about the lives of plants and also about our Mother Earth.This activity brought the students closer to the nature and they were told to plant at least one tree on their birthday every year.
