Delhi Public School Civil Lines organised an Inter House Music (Vocal) Competition on February 2, 2012 . The theme was Indian Folk song or Bhajan. The event was categorised into two groups. Group ‘A’ classes I to II and Group ‘B’ classes IV to VI.
The children came out with variety of bhajans and songs in praise of their country, God etc. we are really proud of being an Indian and the Competition showed unity in diversity.Results of the competitions mentioned are as follows-

Roller Skating Event held in DPS Civil Lines on 17.11.2011

To enhance and emphasize the spirit of physical alertness, enthusiasm with in the children, an Inter House skating competition was held in D P S Civil Lines on 17 th November 2011. The students participated with great energized bodies and full gusto and enthusiasm.

They were categorized into two groups, Group A (Class 1 to 3) and Group B (Class 4 to 6) and it was 100 m race and 400m race for each group respectively

The competition was full of fun and frolic and children participated with great energized creativities.

Report of Inter House Science Projects/Models Competition Date-4-11-11

To inculcate the spirit of scientific temperament science projects and models exhibition was organized in D.P.S. Civil lines on 4-11-11 students participated with full gusto and enthusiasm.

Various interesting topics were given to the students. Spiral snake and means of communication was given to class I to III children. "Green Revolution is the best solution to arrest pollution˝ to highlight the importance of this line topics were given for classes IV and V students as terrace gardening, to avoid wastage and reuse useless things and recycling of paper. Children showed beautiful presentations with their great imaginary power and creativity.

Students of class VI participated with great enthusiasm and they prepared their models/ projects on the topics; Rain Water Harvesting and Roof Top Harvesting under the guidance of science teacher in Science lab.

Every student was involved in making the project and finally they displayed their project activities in an interesting way. They got the prizes for their efforts. The result of the projects awarded is as follows:-

Report on Inter House Cricket Competition Date: 20.10.2011

An Interhouse Cricket tournament was held with great zeal and enthusiasm in Delhi Public School Civil Lines.

The tournament was divided into two groups. Group A (class 1 to 2). Group B

(class 4 to 6 ). In group A Ravi House bagged first, Chenab second and Jhelum House was third, where as in Group B, again Ravi House came first, Chenab second and Ganga was third. The tournament commenced by the Senior Mistress Madam. The participants were motivated and cheered by the teachers and students present in the ground as audience. The winners were congratulated by the Principal Dr. Shubha Narayan for their great physical efforts.

INTER HOUSE QUIZ COMPETITION

An Inter House Quiz competition was held in Delhi Public School Civil Lines on October 13, 2011. The students were divided in two groups Group -A and Group-B. Group A consisting of classes 1 to 3 and Group –B consisting of classes 4 to 6. There were four rounds Check Ability Round, Rapid Fire Round, Buzzer round and Audio/Visual round. The students took interest and enjoyed the competition with immense pleasure. Over all winner was Chenab House. Second position was bagged by Ganga and Jhelum House and Ravi house secured the third position.

Inter House Competitions 2011-12

Delhi Public School Civil Lines Aligarh organized following Inter House Competitions in the month of August. An Inter House Debate/ Declamation competition was held on 21st July 2011 with the participants great zeal and enthusiasm. The participants spoke well on the topic “The person whom I admire the most” as declamation and “Should we allowed to have any style of haircut” as a topic for debate.

An Inter House Carrom competition was held on 4th August 2011 with all the energetic efforts. An Inter House Hindi Skit competition was held on 25th August 2011. The topics were ** and for Junior Group and Senior Group respectively.An Inter House Table Tennis match was held on 1st September 2011 with the great efforts made by the participants.

HOUSE SYSTEM:
The house system provides a good platform for the holistic development of students. Its forms the basis of all competitions and activities in school and foster team spirit group loyalty and healthy competition. The school is divided into four houses namely Chenab, Ganga, Jhelum and Ravi. Students exhibited their talents and skills to bring glory to their respective houses.
