A School library is a special place just for books where children and teachers can explore, discover and enjoy new books and old favorites. Libraries offer children the freedom to engage with books without pressure with the guidance of a book loving adult, who can get to know their reading tastes and suggest books they might like.

Delhi Public School library was started on 30th August 2007.

In Delhi Public School Library has a collection of different types of books such as :-

The goal of Delhi Public School Library is to encourage children to cultivate the habit of reading to understand that there is wealth of information and fun waiting for them in friendly encouraging atmosphere.
The library provides activities and opportunities for children to experience the joy of reading different type of books.
 

The students from Class I to VI are using the facility of the library and gathering various information

  • Students of class I will be shown CD, story telling and see picture story books.
  • Students read and write at least one news daily and also advised to read the column/article of news paper to enhance their brain power and write five news headlines, paste picture related the news for classes IV to VI.
  • Stress on reading story books and to make the conclusion that what is the moral of the story, write book review for class V and VI.
  • Make book jacket, book mark etc.
  • To write summary/ Paragraph, draw picture from issued books.
  • Help students for preparing quiz & other competitions.
  • To make book club at home.
  • Use dictionaries & encyclopedia, search word meaning.
 

We are following Dr. S. R. Rangnathan rules and regulation:-

  • Books are useful to us.
  • Every reader wants his/her book.
  • Every book wants his/her reader.
  • Library is a growing institution

Some rules & regulation used in library

  • Books are issued for one week to the students from class III to VI.
  • Audio-Video aids are issued during the school hours.
  • Books marked, disfigured, damaged or lost will have to be replaced or paid by the user.
Students come to the library as per the time table.
