Delhi Public School Civil Lines organized the summer camp for the year 2011-12 on an innovative and cultural theme “ Incredible India”. The students were divided among three groups as follows.
Group A – Class 1& 2
Group B – Class 3& 4
Group C – Class 5& 6
To give a fruitful result and successful achievement, separate coordinators were made of the three groups, Ms Afreen Shuja for group A, Ms Nidhi Kaushik for group B and Ms Anjana Kumari Sinha for group C.The overall coordinator was Ms Rashmi Vashishtha.
With the theme of “INCREDIBLE INDIA” various activities and programmes were held like
- Aerobics – The students were introduce with modern exercise methodology without machines so that they remained healthy and fit.
- Pidilite- Various articles and sculptures were made under this category like photoframe, wall hanging, jute mat, duck, glass painting, bat decoration, bandhanvaar etc.
- Art gallery- It included pot decoration, Madhubani cards, Chamba rumal representing different states of India.
- Dance- It included four dance forms of India- Dandia, Bharatnatyam, Odissi, Rajasthani dance forms.
- Olympiad – Giving intellectual knowledge to our children, they were given Olympiad classes with Mental Ability, Cyber, Reasoning, Science and English.
- Taste of India- During our summer camp our students learnt to cook different tasty dishes from different states of India.
Like – They learnt to make Dhokla- a famous recipe from Gujarat. Upma- a recipe from South which is generally eaten in breakfast and liked by children. Rasogulla- a sweet dish famous in West Bengal and finally Aam Panna – a tasty drink made by unripe mangoes which is not only refreshing but also good for health during summer days. |
