Class Prep Date: March 7, 2011

An educational tour was organized for the students of class Prep to the places of worship. At first we went to Gurudwara where students bowed in front of Guru Granth Sahib. Then we moved forward to Church and on its way we got to see the temple.

As we reached the church, children joined their little hands and prayed. We had some fun out in the premises and children had their snacks. Students were also given the Bible.

While we were returning to school, we saw a Mosque too. Children danced and sang so many songs and had a lot of fun. The trip was, in short, educational and enthusiastic one.

A Trip to Caps Farm
Class – I - II

Delhi Public School Civil Lines planned an educational trip to the Caps Farm located on Agra road, 10 km from DPS Civil Lines. Children were very happy and enthusiastic. The farm had greenery all around. The children were very excited to see the animals in the cages. They played along with the teachers.    In between we took snaps and enjoyed the swings.

We had snacks and children shared their lunch with friends and teachers and showed active participation throughout.

Finally at 11.30 pm we headed towards school.

On 11th march class III visited Heinz India factory as a part of their educational excursion. Basically the visit was planned for 2 units. First was ( RPU ) Retail Packaging Unit. And PU Production unit .
          Near about 54 villages supply milk over here. 30,000 litres of milk is processed at a time. First of all milk is tested on various parameters like purity , acidity RM value, adulteration etc.
         Mr. Rajeev Agarwal (Assistant Manager) explained about it and enhanced our knowledge. In this unit milk is pasteurized at 4 C .
Cream is removed and here butter is melted (80% fats). Then it is boiled at 105 C and ghee is prepared as a by product by the brand name Sampriti. He has also shown us the evaporator ( vaccum negative pressure is created) and here the milk can only boil at 45 C
          Then we visited the production unit where complan was made ( complete health drink) . First of all milk fat is removed and some vegetable oil (Arachis hypogea) is added . Air is compressed from that (moisture is removed) and the powder through gravity is pumped to top floor at each and every floor. Some of the other process was done.

Like on one floor Minerals, Protiens And Vitamins were added It is all done very hygienically, each and every process was done through machines only the packets were kept in the carton manually.
                  They also explained the advantages and nutritive values of the Complan ( Health drink)

The main products are

         It was really interesting to know about the various units overthere. They also  told us about the history of the company.
Previously the company was Glaxo but in 1994, Heinz India took over Glaxo because Glaxo is involved in medicinal area only. After having a lots of knowledgeable tip we had refreshed ourselves. We had Milk Shake flavoured with Kesar Badam flavour of complan. Children were very happy and really enjoyed the trip. We would love to visit the industry again. So that the children may know about the various industrial accomplishments of our country.
 At last I would like to conclude that we would again and again  like to visit such places of educational interest in future.
