| “DPS, ALIGARH” ORGANISES THE GRAND EVENT OF “SAMAGAM” |
A grand cultural programme, on the theme “SAMAGAM,” on Monday, Dec.12, 2011, was gloriously organized by DPS Aligarh, along with all its three wings, at senior wing, adjacent to Magalayatan Dhaam, Agra road, Aligarh. The chief guest for the event was, our esteemed administrator and well known educationist, honorable Sri Ashok Chandra (Ex. I.A.S.) Chairman, Delhi Public School Society, Delhi and the special guest was Dr. Mrs.Sharda Nayak, the chairperson of DPS Aligarh
The Head boy of the school Raunak Bhatia, along with Head Girl Ashima Singhal presented bouquet to make a warm welcome to Sri Ashok Chandra, the chief guest and Dr. Mrs. Sharda Naik, the special guest, by following the conventional way of welcoming. The programme was set in motion at 5.00pm after the auspicious lamp lightening by chief guest Sri Ashok Chandra, Dr. Mrs. Sharda Naik,Pro Vice Chairman Sri Swapnil Jain, Principal Dr. Mrs.Shubha Narayan and Vice Principal Mr. Chandra Shekhar respectively before the goddess of knowledge Maa Saraswati. The most important and mesmerising fact is, that the programme was staged by over 3000 participants on a 3600 square feet hydraulic stage on its glorious theme ‘Contribution of Female Strength to the History and glory of our Mother India’ showcasing from evolution to revolution of Indian culture, virtues, heritage and technology with an incredible blend of various religious sentiments and social issues by an introduction, scientifically fictitious appearance of aliens on mother earth in search of best human qualities. Around 6000 guests witnessed the grand occurrence at DPS. Glimpses of Indian ‘female-milestones’, from yesteryears to contemporary, was showcased to elite gathering, naming: mother like qualities in Yashoda, bravery and will power, Razia Sultaan, great, affectionate and universal Mother Teresa, strong determination of great dancer, Sudha Chandran and of high spirits to reach to the stars by Kalpana Chawla, of great sacrifice by Panna Dhai, of great zeal to serve people in many more.
The programme also consisted of a well actuated event, based on ‘Save Girl Child & Save Nature’ by ‘Nanhi Chhaon’, run by our own Delhi Public School, a programme under the aegis of DPS Society of which our school, is an integral part. The audiences were mesmerized on seeing the glimpses of great personalities of India, like Ashoka The Great, Laxmi Bai, Lord Buddha, Mahavir Swami, Teepu Sultan, Prithvi raj Chauhan,Vivekanand,Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and and so, related to its past and the contemporary, on huge hydraulic stage prepared by “Innovative Ideas Pvt. LTD”.
Pro vice chairman of DPS Aligarh, Sri Swapnil Jain, in his speech, said that the records, which have been established in the aspect of learning and imbibing,art and craft, games and sports, since 13 years, are the fruits of the blessings of people of the DPS fraternity along with guardians. He also said that the DPS fraternity would try its level best to make the school DPS Aligarh as a role model among 160 units of DPS, blotted all over the world and students would learn the high moral values and ideologies in a philosophical way, in the eternal process of all round development. |

| CHRISTMAS DAY |
The charm of Christmas became ten fold when it was celebrated in its own unique way in DPS Civil Lines, Junior Wing and Senior Wing. On this occasion Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Shubha Narayan and Vice Principal Mr. Chandrashekhar lighted candle and offered flowers praying before the picture of Christ was born by a silent night song. Through a short drama, light was thrown on the miracles and wonders performed by Christ. Santa Claus dropped in the gifts for children. Students highlighted the valuable, unique and peaceful messages of Christ. Jingle bells dance by students was really mind-ravishing. |

| Investiture Ceremony (August 24 & 25, 2011) |
| Investiture Ceremony was celebrated with great pomp and show in DPS Senior Wing. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Shubha Narayan addressed the students and said that the core team of students should play an important role in all school activities. Students are indeed leaders of tomorrow. Each and every child must be given some little responsibility as every child is special. |

| Krishna Janamasthmi Celebration (20th August 2011) |
| Krishna Janamashtmi was celebrated in all the three wings of DPS Aligarh. Small students had participated in this festival and shown the various activities from birth to young age of Shri Krishna in the form of short skit. Small students were dressed very nicely, they were looking so pretty. Dance was also organized of Radha and Krishna. |

| Raksha Bandhan –A Bond of love (11th August 2011) |
This festival of togetherness end the most precious bond of brothers and sisters was celebrated with the great enthusiasm .The children celebrated it together ,showering love for each other . the Principal ,DR. Mrs Shubha Narayan said that Raksha bandhan is a symbol of our culture and civilization . The Vice principal ,Mr. Chandra shekhar said that Raksha bandhan is national Festival and wished a very Happy Raksha Bandhan to all. |

| The Excellent Language- Sanskrit (August 10, 2011) |
| Sanskrit Day function was organized in all the three branches of DPS Aligarh, in which Dr. Umesh Chandra Sharma of S.V. College Aligarh graced the chair of the chief guest and explained the importance of Sanskrit Language. The students were encouraged to learn this language as Sanskrit is the soul of Indian Culture. |

| Tulsi Jayanti. (August 8, 2011) |
| Tulsi Das Jayanti was celebrated in DPS Senior Wing. On this day students had displayed the poems and speeches Tulsi Das on the stage. The students of DPS Aligarh presented a special assembly on Tulsidas Jayanti. The students highlighted the works of Goswami Tulsidas. |

| Munshi Premchand Jayanti (August 01, 2011) |
| The Birth Anniversary of renowned story writer and novelist Munshi Premchand was celebrated at DPS Aligarh. A Glowing tribute was given to the greater writer ,Munsi Premchand who is also known as the emperor in the field of stories and novels the wrote about 300 stories reflecting the reality of human life .The Principal ,Dr. Mrs.Shubha Narayan said that the life of Premchand is source of inspiration to all. |
