On 2nd November 2011morning opening ceremony started at 8:00 am Chief Guest Mr. (Dr. Mahendra Dev, Mr. Anupam Jagga (Principal, DPS Moradabad), Mr. Avinash Gupta, Dr. Anand Agarwal, Mr. Pawan Jain, Ms. Indu Agarwal inaugurated the tournament. Host School presented group song, & group dance.

As tournament was based on league-cum-knock-out. So on 2nd & 3rd only league matches were played of 15 overs. There were Three Pools:

1st match won by 6 wickets against DPS Moradabad                                      
2nd match Won by 5 wickets against DPS Bareilly
Semi Final Match Won by 8 Wickets against DPS Meerut.
Final Match Won by 8 Wickets against DPS Ranipur.
 

After the end of league matches four teams qualified for Semi Finals.
 DPS Aligarh & DPS Meerut
 DPS Mathura Ref. & DPS Ranipur

On 2nd evening Host School organized one hour DJ Programme for all.             

First semi final was played on 3rd Morning at 11:30 pm between DPS Aligarh vs DPS Meerut. In this DPS Aligarh won by 8 wickets and reached final. In another Semi -final between DPS Ranipur vs DPS Mathura Ref., DPS Ranipur won by 77 runs.
For 3rd & 4th place match was played on 4th Nov. Morning at 10:00 am between DPS Meerut vs DPS Mathura Ref. in this DPS Meerut won 60 runs and got 3rd position in the tournament.

At last Final match started at 11:00 pm on 4th Nov. In final match chief guest was Mr. Pawan Jain Were introduced with the players of both teams & officials.
Final match played between DPS Aligarh & DPS Ranipur, DPS Aligarh won by 8 wickets.
                                   
At the end chief guest Mr. Pavan Jain, Ms. Indu Agarwal & chairperson of the tournament Mr. Anupam Jagga awarded the players/coaches with certificate & trophies. Rinku Kumar of DPS Aligarh awarded as a player of the Tournament & Man of the Match of Final.

Inter DPS Basketball tournament, North Zone – III was inaugurated spiritfully by Mr. Chnadra Prakash, Superintendent Police, Mahamaya Nagar. Before this grand opening, the chief quest, Mr. Chandra Prakash, PVC, Mr. Swapnil Jain, Mrs. Priya Jain and the Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Shubha Narayan lighted the lamp before the Goddess of knowledge, Saraswati. Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Shubha Narayan welcomed the chief quest by offering bouquet. Balloons were flown in the infinite sky by the chief quest after hoisting the flag. Sports captain, Ms. Saloni Jain welcomed the teams from DPS Agra, DPS Ranipur, DPS Meerut and DPS Aligarh with their flags during the march past, all the teams saluted the chief guest. A mind-ravishing, delightful, sweet music overwhelmed with the welcome song by the students.

During the first match between Ranipur , Hariwdwar and Meerut , DPS Ranipur won by 21 – 4. The chief guest, Mr. Chandra Prakash expressed his best wishes motivating all the teams of North Zone. The Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Shubha Narayan said that basketball has given us a new recognition. It is our duty to preserve it. She wished for a bright future of all the players.

On the second day of Inter DPS basketball tournament the match was really very exciting and thrilling. Today the first match was played between DPS Ranipur and DPS Agra in which Ranipur remained unbeaten with 16 basket goals. Second match was DPS Meerut Vs DPS Aligarh, DPS Meerut emerged as winner.
The members of Basketball Association are imparting a new recognition to basketball tournament. The match started with spiritual motivation from the vice principal, Mr. Chandra Shekhar and Mr. Arindam Chakravarti , HOD , sports dept.

The Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Shubha Narayan said the players should play with confidence, the game should be consistent that is what decides the match especially in a pressure situation every player has potential and needs to be consistent.

DPS Ranipur remained unbeaten in the Final, defeating DPS Agra. On Saturday in DPS, Senior Wing, three days basketball tournament came to a closing ceremony. DPS Ranipur team won against DPS Agra after a thrilling and exciting game. In the closing ceremony, District Magistrate, Mr. Suhas Elvai honoured the winners with trophy and certificate. On this occasion, DM, Mr. Suhas Elvai said that to be a winner is not everything in life, participation is also equally important.
