Co-Curriculum

School activities play a significant role in the holistic development of students. Co-curricular activities are the application part of skills learned and achieved during academic activities. It enhances our social skills, intellectual skills, collaborative skills etc.

At DPS Aligarh, we settle for student initiated activities that encompasses everything possible under the sun. The range of activities offered include

Art and Craft- The vibrancy of the colours and the intricate and minute evolvement of creative initiatives seem to paint the wall of the Art Gallery. Students throng the very premises of the Art Gallery to relish upon the feast of colours and patterns. Inter House and Intra House activities are a common sight every Wednesday.

Music and Dance- Nothing soothes the wary soul more than music and nothing inspires the soul greater than music. The faculty entrusted with the sublimity of music and dance has always managed to inspire a few souls to produce Musicians and Dancers, lime lighted at every event. Apart from the School activities the students have also held the school flag high at different Inter DPS events as well as Inter School Events at both state and national level.

Theatrics and Public Speaking - Regular activities like Extempore, Speech, Debate, One act plays etc have added to the grandeur of multi Lingual character of the schools. The Language Dept remains at its toes to sharpen the oratory and acting skills of the students. These activities have also rendered in the development of presentation skill.

  • EARTH DAY CELEBRATION 2023-24
  • “The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it”

    Earth Day is a proof that even one person can make a global impact in a positive way. Echoing the same, Delhi Public School, Aligarh celebrated “The Earth Day” through a series of activities on 22nd April. The whole school, whether it was the students, support staff, teachers, guards, admin staff or helpers took part in this “Go- Green initiative”. The celebration commenced with the morning assembly, conducted by the students of Class VIII B, where the importance of preserving Earth was explained to the students through various mediums. Principal Ms. Arti Jha, advised the children to reuse, recycle and avoid using anything that harms our planet. The assembly concluded with a thoughtful note to preserve natural resources, and contribute our bit to the same. The students were reminded of simple doable actions towards saving Mother Earth. On this day, we try to plant a sapling or a plant which helps us from avoiding global warming.

    Array of creative events were organized with a view to sensitize the children about the conservation of natural resources and to motivate them to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful. Our Environmental conservationists from the Kindergarten and the Primary Wing contributed by doing various activities to create maximum awareness and impact. In the primary wing ,It was celebrated through educational and action- oriented activities that were fun. The Teachers indulged them into art & craft activities with clay representing Mother Earth, with blue and green colours symbolizing land and water,to remind the students of their duties towards ‘Mother Nature’ and some significant contributions that they could make to support ‘Go Green’ drive. They were advised to adopt a tree and to encourage the same; students planted their saplings in pots. The tiny tots took an oath on the Earth Day to keep their environment clean and plant more trees.!

  • ADVENTURE CAMP 2023-24
  • "To have an adventurous life, we have to lose the fear of failing"

    Delhi Public School Aligarh provides several opportunities for its students to explore a life outside their comfort zone. One such endeavour was inaugurated by Ms. Aarti Nigam, Principal of Pavna International School ,on March 22, 2023 in PIS ground. The Adventure camp lasted for 2 nights and 3 days and included activities like rappeling, zip lining, flying fox, zorbing, archery, commando net, wall climbing, tent pitching, Burma bridge among several others. The students enjoyed staying in spacious tents with their friends, dancing to the cold with a campfire at night, having sumptuous meals at the beautiful cafeteria and participating in various challenging activities to test their risk taking and decision making skills.

    Classes I to III  had a whole day of activities and Classes IV to VI had overnight camp to make them learn about critical thinking ,organising their things and doing things comfortably on their own. The trip was highly worthwhile, and concluded with enthralling cultural presentations. The students were awarded with certificates by School.

  • COCK HOUSE TROPHY 2022-23

    There are numerous House competitions held throughout the year, which demonstrate the value the school places on both extracurricular and core curriculum activities. The house that obtains the most points at the end of the year receives the coveted Cock House Trophy as well as the traditional moniker of "Cock House." This year, Ganga House emerged as the runners-up, with Ravi House taking first place and receiving the trophy for the session 2022-23. Our esteemed Principal Ms. Arti Jha congratulated the winning house and encouraged the kids to continue their efforts by utilising all of the possibilities that were available as Participation should be always  prioritised before winning or losing.

  • SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON REPUBLIC DAY 2022-23
  • “Freedom of thought, strength in our convictions and pride in our heritage. Let’s salute the Nation on Republic Day”

    Every year, we at Delhi Public School Aligarh affirm our loyalty to our nation, paying tribute to the sacrifices made by our unsung heroes, and recommit ourselves to create the India of our dreams—one that is stronger and better.

    The special assembly of Republic day was conducted in the school campus which commenced with thought of the day, news and a beautiful poem on the pride of being an Indian Citizen.

    Followed by the mesmerizing song and a magical dance performance through which the students sprinkled colour of patriotism in the school premises.

    Proceeding further, It was also the day to present our learners with token of appreciation and thereby the winners of

    Akhil Bhartiya Rajbhasa Hindi Pratiyogita' which was held on September 7, 2022, at the Delhi Public School in Aligarh that witnessed an overwhelming participation of 270 students from grades 2 to 10 were awarded. The awardees who brought honour to our school received medals and certificates from our esteemed principal, Mrs. Arti Jha. The learners also received the "Face of the Month" award, which is given to students on a class-by-class basis to boost their confidence and self-esteem.

    While wrapping up the assembly, the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity were emphasised by our Respected Principal.She further guided the students about the reason for celebrating this occasion and the importance of Constitution of India .She also appreciated and congratulated the winners for their efforts, and encouraged them to never give up on their goals and keep pursuing their dreams. The whole assembly was conducted beautifully by Ravi house.

  • SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION 2022-23
  • "Christmas isn't a season, it's a feeling"

    To celebrate this beautiful feeling, Delhi Public School Aligarh conducted a special assembly on Christmas two days prior to it on December 23, 2022 Friday which saw overwhelming participation and excitement from students of all grades and ages. The adorable students from Nursery and pre-primary presented a beautiful dance number along with Christmas carols and famous Christmas songs. The children got really elated when Santa distributed chocolate from his big bag and greeted them with the warmest smile of the year. With the high spirits of Christmas and the upcoming new year, the Principal Mrs. Arti Jha elaborated how Christmas is not only about gifts and families, but also about love, understanding and respecting the culture that binds us together.
